Mark enlisted in the Marine Corps in October of 1970. He then served two tours of duty in Vietnam .His first tour he was a machine gunner, and his second he was the door gunner on a helicopter . He attended ( Arabic linguist ) school , was an interrogator- translator in Beirut and was on duty when our barracks were bombed in October , 1983. He has 6 Purple Hearts,Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star for Valor, 7 Air Medals, 3 Combat Action Ribbons, 2 Presidential Unit Citations, 10 Navy Unit Citations, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/palm, and many others. He retired from the Marine Corps in 1991 after serving in the Gulf War. He served 21 years of his life to ensure all Americans their freedom.
